The field is located 250 km away from the village of Uvat within the Ust-Tegussky license area. Its recoverable oil reserves amount to over 17 mln mt. Commercial production at the Zapadno-Epasskoye field is a milestone in a large-scale initiative of commissioning new deposits under the Uvat project. In 2015, three new deposits – the Protozanovskoye, the Yuzhno-Gavrikovskoye, and the Malyk – were commissioned.

EDC accounts for the majority of Uvat project’s output: in 2015 EDC fields produced 9.8 mln mt of oil.
